I retired from GM Arlington in '05 with 27yrs service total, and I miss everyone very much.  I do go into the plant ever so often to see benefits rep., etc.  Everyone is so friendly and helpful I worked with. I want my job back,,pushing the candy & nuts cart or making frito pies the month of Dec.haha.  But really, I'm glad I'm out,, that place was tearing my body up.  I do keep busy, seems like I'm busier now than when I was working,,haha.  Been traveling, keeping up the ole ranch(house), working in my hot pepper garden, fishing and going to the junk yards in GrandPrairie scrounging for parts, gettin my '01 Silverado ready to drive to Vegas and then onto S.Calif. to visit 2 sons there. I want to drive the north side of N.Mex and Arizona 'cause I haven't driven thru the mts,, always drove across I-10 and up I-20 to DFW.  Hang in there everyone, things are looking up for the auto industry.  The FtWayne, Ind. plant is in the running for expansion to build heavy-duty Silverado trks. People are always going to need these Tahos/Yukons/Escalades to tow their boats, campers, horse trailors etc etc.  Never mind this 'global warming' bs.  its just another cycle the earth is going thru(in my opinion). adios amigos!!!

Welcome Semi. Glad your enjoying your retirement like me. I'm from Delphi, Lockport, N.Y.

Yep my body is beat up also I lost 60% use of my right hand and getting worse. I don't think I could have lasted any longer than I did. I need to wear a brace on that hand the rest of my life no cure for the injury to date but I like you am glad to be out of there.

Tell your friends about our site as they may like it also. Wink Smiley

Jack,,,tnx for reply.  I am very much enjoying my retirement from GM,,but I'm not layin around watching tv all day.very seldom I turn on the boob-tube, just maybe to watch the noon news.  Im not dead yet,,haha,,still got maybe 25yrs left in this ole worn out body. gots a lot of livin left,, traveling(driving trips to LasVegas and S.Calif. to visit sons there, keepin the ranch(house) maintained, yard mowed, garden weeded, do PM(preventive maint) on my truck and car, fishing, walking my mini-schnauzer, etc etc.,,,there's always something around here need fixin. I get up round 530am Texas time to do my outside work 'cause here last 2 weeks we been having some down right hi temp/humidity readings,,108F yest. on my frt stoop(porch) in the shade, and NO let-up in sight. but this is typical for Texas tho. we got watering restrictions on now,,No watering/washing cars from 10am-6pm everyday.   gots to git outta here and walk the dog for exercise and fresh air b 4 it gits up to 100F, adios amigo!!!
