Hello all this is my first post on this board. I like the rest here never though it would come to this. Iím several years away from being old enough to collect social security so if GM goes bankrupt I guess Iíll either have go back to work or learn to live on half of what I now have.

I still donít understand something about our pension plan though. I thought those monies are there for us the retirees. If GM were going into bankruptcy could a judge get his hands on that money? Because when I retired I took the option of a ěsingle life annuityî.

Anyway I hope and prey for the best for all of us. All any of us are guilty of was showing up for work every day and doing our work.

The funds were there until they started using them for the early retirements and buyouts. If there's anything left the BK Courts will  decide what to do with them. Which involves many scenarios. As for the Anuity I'm not sure about that. But will find out for you.
