I think we should start some type of letter writing campaign to demand that the UAW give us some kind of information as to when the heck GM will begin to pay the difference in our pension from the PBGC and what we were promised.  Not later, but now, or I think you are going to see people going postal in the near future.
The stress that they are putting on people by their silence is uncalled for.

UAW President

Ron Gettelfinger,

I’m writing you in Regards to Us UAW 30 Year plus Members that had Our Pensions unjustly turned over to the PBGC with a PROMISE from General Motors to Top off Our Pensions. Since this has happened we have only heard from the International once since they came to Delphi, Lockport Local #686 on 8-17-2009 to inform us of this.

Dave Kagels and some of the other Representatives showed up on a fly by night meeting. By this I mean if Myself and a few other’s did not catch wind of this We would not ever have known about this Meeting as We went on a Phone Campaign to spread the word and on My Website. There was no PRIOR NOTICE sent to us. Sad but typical of Our Leadership! They came much unprepared with less information and hardly any answers to the member’s questions than I provided weeks prior to the meeting on my site.

Now by saying that I am not sure You REALIZE the STRESS and DURESS that We the Members with 30 Plus Years of Service Whom were overlooked as the Members that took the Early Retirements RECEIVED SPECIAL consideration over us. This whole process we are going thru is very unjust!  I cannot state that often enough. We received very limited information from the PBGC and nothing over the last 7 months from the UAW Leadership and General Motors as to how and when our pensions will be topped off.

Can you explain to me why of all People UAW President Ron Gettelfinger aka (Conqueror of Detroit), (Man of the Year 2009) either cannot or will not keep Us Informed as to how all this will and should pan out?  We believe that as Retired UAW Members which employed the UAW International Union that Our Representatives be held to the Highest Degree of Job Performance and Reliability.

Jack Kiedel,

UAW Local # 686 Retired
